The core philosophy of ScreenRec LUIS is Privacy-First. By design, our application is built to function primarily offline and strictly respects the sanctity of your device's local storage.

2. What Data We Collect

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit your personal data. ScreenRec LUIS is a standalone utility application designed for screen recording and media management.

2.1. Active Recording Data (Video & Audio)

• Local Processing: All screen recordings, facecam video feeds, audio recordings (microphone and internal system audio), and trimmed media files are processed strictly locally on your Android device.
• No Cloud Uploads by Us: We do not host servers. We do absolutely not upload, transmit, or back up your generated video or audio files to any external databases or third-party servers.
• User Control: Your files are saved directly to your device's public directories (e.g., Movies/Screenrec or Music/Screenrec). You retain 100% ownership and absolute physical control over where these files go. If you choose to use the native "Share" feature (e.g., sending a video to WhatsApp, Telegram, or Google Drive), that data transfer is governed entirely by the privacy policies of those respective third-party platforms, relying on your direct action.

2.2. App Usage and Analytics (If Applicable)

We do not integrate aggressive third-party tracking software or behavioral analytics. However, standard anonymized crash reports and basic installation metrics may be collected by Google Play Services (the platform through which the app is distributed), solely for the purpose of identifying critical bugs (e.g., fatal crashes on specific devices) and improving app stability. This data contains no personally identifiable information (PII).

3. Permissions We Request and Why

To function securely and as intended, ScreenRec LUIS requires specific Android system permissions. We request only what is strictly necessary:

• Screen Capture (Media Projection): Required at the start of every session to capture the visual output of your screen. This permission must be granted explicitly by the user upon each recording attempt.
• Microphone / Record Audio: Required to capture your voice (for commentary) or internal device audio.
• Camera: Required exclusively for the "Facecam" overlay feature. The camera feed is strictly overlaid onto your local recording and is never transmitted independently.
• Storage Access (Read/Write External Storage / Post Notifications): Required to save the resulting MP4/MP3 files locally to your device, to allow the internal "Trimmer" and Media Manager to edit and delete those files at your request, and to display the persistent recording notification.

4. GDPR Compliance & User Rights

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have specific data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Because ScreenRec LUIS operates offline and does not collect or store your Personal Data on servers, the exercise of these rights is inherently fulfilled by the architecture of the application itself:

• The Right to Access & Data Portability: All your data (recordings) is immediately accessible to you via the app's Media Manager or your device's native file explorer. You may transfer them freely.
• The Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have total power to delete any or all recordings using the app's internal "Delete" function or by manually deleting the files from your device folders. Uninstalling the app and deleting the Screenrec folder completely erases all traces of your usage.
• The Right to Rectification: You may rename files at will within the app.
• The Right to Object / Restrict Processing: Because processing happens locally and on-demand (only when you press "Start"), you restrict processing simply by pausing or stopping the application, or denying the relevant Android permissions at runtime.

5. Security Measures and Android Limitations

We employ industry-standard secure coding practices. Furthermore, ScreenRec LUIS strictly obeys the Android Operating System's inherent security constraints:

• FLAG_SECURE Compliance: The app fully respects DRM (Digital Rights Management) and FLAG_SECURE developer settings. This means ScreenRec LUIS is physically incapable of recording sensitive applications such as banking portals, secure password managers, or copyrighted video streams (like Netflix). Attempts to do so result in a black screen, preserving your financial and personal security.

6. Children's Privacy

ScreenRec LUIS does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has used the application to record sensitive data, please note that all such data resides solely on the local device and can be deleted manually by you.
